16-bit bargin

Todays been a good day for the bargin hunt. Let me paint a picture for you.

On my way home from work today and the bus is crawling along so I decided to get out early and walk the rest of the way home. While walking past one of my local charity shops a nice big Killer Instinct Super Nintendo box catches my eye. I’m intrigued I haven’t seen one of these for years and it’s looks to be in quite good condition. I enter the shop and approach the counter, ask to see the box and it’s unknown contents. As I get handed the box I memory’s rush back of how much one of these should weigh. THis one was heavy mich heavier that it should be. I place the box on the counter and start unpacking, to my surprise game after game pops out. Super Mario All Stars, Killer Instinct, Street Fighter II, Mario Kart, Pilotwings, Super Metroid and Lemmings. I’m a little bit giddy now but hiding it well the console is complete and even has a spare controller YAY.

I look at the box to examine the price tag I had not paid much attention to previously and I’m once again supprised. The tag states €10. yea €10!! I quickly snap it up and continue off home to admire my new gadget.

Ok well now you know the story and your probably asking your self “So what it’s an old game console whats so special?”
Well it’s just me and my love for retro electronics I see the possibility’s for art in this relic of my childhood, this once treasured giver of valuable street cred now sits waiting for it’s rebirth.
